We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our fast-paced, entrepreneurial team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work across multiple dynamic entities, including:

  • Biorecovery – a national biohazard remediation business
  • SQ4D – an innovative early-stage construction technology company
  • Family Office – overseeing financial operations for the leadership team of both businesses
In addition to these core businesses, the owners have several other entrepreneurial ventures that you will be exposed to and help manage from an accounting perspective. This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who enjoys both hands-on accounting work and a wide rage of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Supervise and support our existing bookkeeper, ensuring efficient workflow and accurate financial records.
  • Prepare financial statements, budgets, and cash flow projections for multiple entities.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
  • Work closely with company leadership to provide financial insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Support accounting functions for the owners' other entrepreneurial ventures as needed.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax professionals, and financial institutions.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Required).
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience (Public accounting or multi-entity experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
  • Experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to adapt to a fast-moving environment.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential financial matters with discretion.
